The Study About The Method of Conceptional Access and The Importance of Rhythm Education

ABSTRACT

Rhythm refers to a repeated pattern of sounds or movements in speech, dancing, music, etc. Rhythm exists not only in music but also in every world of arts and natural phenomena. It plays, therefore, a basic role in everyday life of human being. Music consists of rhythm, melody and harmony. Among them, the most important part can be rhythm because there are some music without melody and harmony but never without rhythm. This study is about early music education for children which is designed to help them listen, feel and express rhythm through the learning methods of such music teachers as Orff, Dalcroze and Kodaly, who influenced the most on the modern music education. The contents of this study are as follows: Rhythm is the most basic part of every music lesson. We can use speech pattern and a simple percussion instrument with physical action. After some steps, we can feel the beauty of music through repetitive exercises. Therefore, music can be educated through studying the rhythm : music education should finally help to develop creativity. The origin of every music is rhythm. Rhythm is composed of long and short sound and a pause. And there is a beat that is regularly repeated in their flowing. And this beat goes to polyphony rhythm. Through this learning method, we can help learners listen to the music, feel its beauty and play the music, which are the goals of music education. I wish this study can be helpful to music education by providing with basic materials for a better understanding of rhythm.
