ABSTRACT

The 2nd UNESCO International Cultural Education Conference was held in Seoul, Korea, from May 25 through 28, 2010. About 2,000 people from all over the world. In fact 193 countries, attended this meeting. The purpose of this report is to share the information and experiences gained from the this world conference with the people, especially the members of Korean society for music education, those who could not attend this meeting. This report consists of four parts: The background of this International cultural education conference, the structure and the main issues of the previous and current conferences in Lisbon, 2006 and Seoul, 2010, respectively, the detailed schedule of the 2010 Seoul conference and finally the Seoul Agenda which is the final document of the Seoul conference. The cultural education policies and practices reported by other countries may be helpful for our creative thoughts toward music educational academic and practical teaching development. Moreover it could be possible for us to attain the music educational research tips based on the Seoul agenda which is applicable to our real teaching settings of music in Korea as well as in abroad.
