ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this research paper is to study the perception natural purpose and characteristic of music itself for Geomungo by actualize and systematize internal and external status of Geomungo in the musical circle. Geomungo has been an instrument of discourse on ages and music. And it is the remarkable instrument which can suggest suitable balance between internal and external contemporary music part which is becoming that focused on practical skill. Sun-bi has been used it as excellent educational instrument to cultivate his students of talent as well as he recognized it as a friend and object for emotional pleasure. Times may change but this kind of identity for Geomungo will not be changeable. It should go on with the flow of ages in the history. Geomungo is our traditional instrument to communicate with and to share all the joys and sorrows with our society to round one`s character as well as an instrument which has a meaning of instrument in the musical world.
