ABSTRACT

According to the development of instructional method, the use of mass-communication media will be generalized more and more. TV program can show the films lively, which teachers and students can hardly observe personally. The more complex and the more increasing the knowledge of the world, the more difficult for teachers to teach. Therefore, in case instructional objective corresponds to program contents, the use of TV program in class is effective. The importance of traditional music education has been emphasized. But there has been little progress of traditional music education. There are many hinderance factors to that. First of all, the most difficult problem is that the teachers cannot be taught sufficiently about traditional music. So traditional music curriculum for preliminary teachers must be systematized in teachers` college. Even before the traditional music curriculum in teachers` college, are systematized, we try to vitalize traditional music education. We must seek to develop the various methods which can be used in traditional music class. This study is carried out in order to develop these methods, which use TV program in class. To use TV program in traditional music class has several benefits. One is that the teachers can have confidence in teaching, another is that children can learn the various subjects of traditional music, and the third, not by the words but by watching the TV program lively, children recognize the excellence of traditional music. It is EBS programs that are made with educational purpose among TV programs. Instructional designs which use traditional music programs broadcasted in 1991 through EBS are suggested in this study. The canteults of program are Samul-nori, Sanzo, and traditional children`s song. The teaching-learning process in the class throughly depends on the interaction between teacher and children. No matter how good the instructional design may be, it is only conference material offered to teachers. Therefore, teachers can make more concrete and more practical instractional designs on the basis of this study.
