An Analysis Study of the Songs for Kindergarten Children

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to know the tendency as the content of the songs, tonality and form, rhythm and time, internal range of the songs for kindergarten children. The results are as follows: 1. The verses were primarily related animals and plants. And it is shown that children can feel some interests through direct experience. 2. The tonality composed of major keys. And the musical form were one-piece(eight times) and rather short songs made of below twelve times which take the half majority of the whole. 3. The time and rhythms are difficult because children have a limited musical knowledge. 4. We found 23.8% of the songs were easily learnt. The pitch(octave range) and key should not be within d , so that songs are suitable for their vocal chords, but 24% were not in this range.
