This study develops program model based on the concepts and theories of multi-cultural education to achieve globalization of children`s music education and explores the educational effects of the model by applying it to children in their age between 4 and 5. In order to find out the practicality of the model, various study materials about this program were provided to the active teachers, who applied them to their students on an informal basis. The summary of this research is as follows. This study attempts to search for ways to develop a program model for global music education that can be actually applied by children`s educational institutions. Researcher of this paper first studied theories regarding globalization of children`s music education and multi-cultural approaches in order to develop a model of this program and created activities after developing its educational goal, contents, teaching technique, and principle. After applying the developed programs in kindergarten and evaluated children`s reactions, it was found that majority of children showed great deal of interests and aggressive participation while proving they recognized and understood variety and multi-cultural factors in response to the multi-cultural factors. As for response to contents of music education, they also showed a high level of understanding in multi-cultural music and recognition of musical variety. In addition, when conducting a focus group composed of 10 active teachers from different institutions to show video footages featuring activities and performance of this program, almost all of them agreed that the program was highly applicable for their students while expressing a high level of interests for themselves to work with the model. Based on the research results mentioned above, the following suggestions rise. First, since this study was only conducted to children between 4 and 5, it is necessary to conduct further research to find out if this model is appropriate for children in other ages as well. As the target ages for modern children`s education is becoming younger, it is advised that more studies toward children younger than 4 is essential. Secondly this study was conducted on a sample group of 30, focusing on qualitative aspect of analysis. It is suggested here that more quantitative studies on this model should be accomplished to get more concrete ideas about educational effects of the model. Finally, the purpose of this study is to develop a program that accepts both traditional Korean music and foreign music in order to help our children recognize the excellence of Korean traditional music and respect variety music of many different countries. It is recommend here more researches regarding globalization of children`s music education in order to spread the excellence of traditional Korean music should be followed.
