The Application of Multiple Intelligence Theory to the Music Classroom for 6th Graders

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to develop a music program for 6th grade music lesson, based on 'Teaching for Understanding' in relation to Gardner' s Multiple Intelligence Theory, then find out the effects in elementary music class.To achieve this goal, it developed a music program of TfU and applied to 37 students of 6th graders in C elementary school, located in Yeonsu-gu, lncheon. Then it collected the data to analyze by classroom observation, learning outcomes, interview and questionnaire. And it finally came to analyze the results after classifying the collected data, according to the encoding by themes and extracting the cases.
