The Application Studies of Observation Methods in Music Classes of Elementary Schools

ABSTRACT

This studies concerns the application studies of observation methods for better improvement in music classes of elementary schools. The thesis relates experimental case studies conducted in elementary school during the musicclass. It applies to previously researched lenses for classroom observation as well as consideration and systems of method for classroom observation.Various categories, available for studies, are optionally selected as the lenses for classroom observation for more effective class improvement while teaching music in elementary classrooms. For instance, there are thelearning atmosphere in classrooms, classroom management, lesson clarity, instructional variety, the work direction of teachers, presenting contents, the duty of students in learning process, the success of students and the like.Not only less organized and descriptive reports in the form of an informal talk, but also ration scales and classroom coding systems as means of structural observation method for specific behavior, are used as methodology. The following studies put those observation methods into practice while observing music classes from the scene of elementary education and present generated result cases.
