Teacher` s Professional Lives of the Temporary Music Subject-Dedicated Teachers in The Elementary School in Incheon and Gyeonggi Area

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was investigate the teacher' s professional lives of the temporary music subject-dedicated teacher in the elementary school in lncheon and Gyeonggi Area.The conclusions from result analysis were following.First of all, they were initially appointed as temporary music subject teachers and most of them were appointed as classroom teachers within 1-2 years due to lack of elementary school teacher, also they prefer working as classroom teachers.Secondly, at first they seems to have had difficulties in the relationship with other teachers, teaching music parts which were not their major, and teaching other subject, while they had no difficulty in managing classes.Thirdly, it was observed that the fact that they majored in music had a big influence on atmosphere of the class and music preference of the students, and also had a positive influence on the schools they are working.Fourthly, they thought that they were well equipped with aptitude, qualification and music performance ability to teach students and they were making constant efforts to equip with upgraded qualification as elementary teachers. Also they didn't have intention to transfer to middle school.Fifthly, they wanted to undertake other duties except music while they didn't have serious complaint about conducting music related duty. Moreover, their performances including instructing students for various events and advising the school in terms of music were being greatly recognized.Sixthly, they enjoyed club activities and running a special activity group and are confident of improving the group.Seventhly, they are adapting themselves very well and trying to do it.Besides, their job satisfaction was very big because their abilities are recognized.
