ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to overview the characteristics, themethodologies-case study, participant observation, interview, andethnography-, and the process of analyzing data for qualitative researchand illustrate some research examples in music education. Finally, aprospect for the future development and a desirable direction ofqualitative research in music education in Korea are represented.
