This research study had been conducted to develop an assessing toolfor testing music-related behaviors of Korean school-aged studentsranging from grade 3 through grade 10. The study was conducted fromthe month of July, 2006 to the month of February, 2007.In the initial phase of the study, theories on music performance andmusic evaluation were examined. In the following phase, collection andanalysis of the published standardized music achievement tests wereconducted.In the third phase of the study, categories for the test were selectedand actual test items were developed accordingly. In the fourth phase, the draft test were administered to the students in the collaborating schools for evaluating reliability, validity, and discriminating effects of the test.After these preliminary phases, the final test was developed, in whichreliability, validity, and difficulty levels were carefully controlled.
