ABSTRACT

This year is the first year that applies `Revised National Curriculum 2007` to school. But suddenly the government is going to rapidly revise the curriculum again. The government made her position that the current curriculum cannot but be revised because the chronic educational ills are caused by it. And the key contents of the revision are permission for self-regulating increase and decrease of subjects at twenty percent, increase of extracurricular activities, batch application of an intensive completion system, and expansion of elementary class hours. If the curriculum which lacks legitimacy is decided and announced rapidly, its victims will be the very students, parents of the students, and Korean society in future. Until a curriculum is created, public feedback through various surveys of public opinion, participation of many subject experts, procedural propriety, and sufficient research period are necessary. In the development process of Revised National Curriculum 2009, guarantee of procedural propriety and credible reliability is required.
