The Effect of Music Concept Learning Based on the Cognitive Apprenticeship Theory on the Students` Music Achievement

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to develop a musical concept model by investigating how the music concept learning for the 4th grade of elementary school is applied to the cognitive apprenticeship theory, and also to explore the effect of music achievement. After reviewing the literature review regarding the cognitive apprenticeship theory and carrying out research on the music concept learning, a music concept model was formed, and 20 period of a lesson plan and portfolio are developed based on the 4th grade`s music elements. Data in this study are collected from a 4th grade class located in Incheon. The pretest and protest are conducted with the data in order to analyze the music achievement. Finally, the results was derived from student`s portfolio and teacher`s observation.
