Kodaly method which was developed as school curriculum with teaching materials contributed to the revival of Hungarian modern ethnic culture with the choral movement. Hungarian music text books reflect Kodaly method for choral teaching in one of the most effective ways. This study analyzes Kodaly` choral composition for children, which uses a system of syllables, to shed light on Kodaly`s choral composition and exercises lated music textbook content with an aim to develop educational techniques and materials. Among the common features found in Kodaly`s chorale for children are modal progress, formulation method and imitation of traditional musical instrument accompaniment figure for folk nursery rhymes, which uniquely represent Kodaly`s choral composition. This study analyzes Hungarian music textbooks to find that they reflect Kodaly`s choral composition and is intended to help teachers develop choral teaching content and materials. This approach can help utilize polyphony for pedagogic purpose by making it into music textbooks and highlight pedagogic methods presented by chorale. In addition, it can also help children experience quality music experience by using chorale as a teaching method.
