ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to identify the perceived factors that influenced the curriculum satisfaction level and the perceived solutions to problems encountered as music education majors in Korean graduate schools of education (N=82). The Music Education Graduate Curriculum Inventory(MEGCI) was developed for investigating the curriculum satisfaction level and the perceived solutions to problems of music education majors in Korean graduate schools of education. The participants indicated that the professor's expertise, and the professor's teaching, and the usefulness of each class were perceived as the most influential factors impacting the curriculum satisfaction level of music education majors in Korean graduate schools of education. Also, the findings pointed out that the writing thesis for master's degree was the most problematic issue in their lives as music education graduates. For the solutions to the problems, the respondents suggested that the Korean graduate schools of education should hire music education faculties and provide research method classes. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for Korean graduate schools of education.
