Development of Blog-Based PBL Music Lesson in Preservice Music Teacher Education

ABSTRACT

This paper aimed at developing the Blog-Based PBL(Problem-Based Learning) Model as new Music Lesson Model to effectively meet the needs of the 21st Century new educational paradigm. Web 2.0 Blog as social software has characteristics such as participation, sharing information and openness. The Blog-based PBL music lesson model, combining the new internet communication tools and the constructivist learning method, was effective in fostering participation, increasing learner autonomous and cooperative learning ability and problem-solving ability. While participating in PBL problem-solving processes, preservice teachers have also acquired the sufficient knowledge of music. It is necessary to adopt positively the new Music Lesson Model combing IT and PBL for educating preservice music teachers.
