The Structural Model Analysis of Young Children`s Music Aptitude, Musical Attitude and Teacher`s Attitude Variables Concerning Music

ABSTRACT

In general most studies have focused on simple relationship of young children`s musicality and teacher`s attitude variable. The propose of this study is to investigate the structural model between young children`s music aptitude, young children`s musical attitude, teacher`s attitude of musical activities and early music education. The subjects was 60 3-years-olds, 59 4-years-olds, 60 5-years-olds and 30 teachers, all of whom were sampled from kindergartens at Seoul and Kyeonggi-do in South Korea. Collected data were analyzed with AMOS 4.01, a statistical program for SEM. In results, teacher`s attitude of early music education was directly influenced by their attitude of musical activities. Young children`s music aptitude was directly influenced by their musical attitude. And indirect effects of teacher`s attitude of musical activities on young children`s music aptitude and musical attitude were mediated by their attitude of early music education.
