ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to investigate the availability of practical use of a concept map for learning musical elements. Previous studies were reviewed for definitions and educational effects of a concept map. Concept mapping is a technique of graphically representing concepts and their relationship. The concept map is useful for studying musical concepts as showing a schema of musical elements and their relationship in hierarchic order. In addition, the concept map can help to develop creativity and problem solving abilities.
