This study aims to examine preservice early childhood teachers` practical knowledge that is developed during a mock music class using the microteaching method. To do so the mock class was conducted in accordance with the steps of microteaching method: planning the class first trial feedback second trial(reteaching) and feedback. Also various other techniques such as video recording interview and reflective journal analysis were used to study the teachers` practical knowledge. As a conclusion the study revealed that the mock class experience using the microteaching method gave the teachers positive influence to their affective characteristics and musical education related knowledge. Especially knowledge related to the teaching method was represented in specific and various forms. However the study also displayed relatively insufficient knowledge with regard to a learner which helps teachers understand the learner`s status and progress.
