ABSTRACT

Today music education does not put value on spontaneous experiences or musically stimulated train-of-thought but rather aims only to improve musical knowledge and practical techniques. This approach does not promote natural experiences or voluntary learning by the learners themselves but instead only provides and assesses standardized information thereby interfering with the flow of active and logical thoughts which otherwise could originate from a multitude of different perspectives. At this juncture this research intends to rid the system of mechanical and uniform learning and investigate into the importance of procedural goals which encourage learners to find and think in a broader manner for the gain of knowledge and sophistication and conceptualize and value the process from the perspective of educational philosophy and psychology. As a result a model for reconstructing the curriculum by utilizing the procedural goals is set up and it is suggested as a major prerequisite for reconstructing the curriculum.
