A Study of the Teaching Plans for Developing Young Children`s Music Aptitude

ABSTRACT

The researcher conducted 12-weeks program for developing children`s musical activities based on the stages of Gordon`s preparatory audiation. Classes were consisted with expressing body movement, experiencing rhythm and melody, and chord/harmony in a variety of learning activities. Children were exposed and explored by various sounds, music instruments and media for activities which stimulate music creativity. Children learned melodies, rhythms, and harmonies through various activities such as body movements, singing, playing musical instruments. The researcher present lesson plans to make children enjoy music which is the ultimate goal of music education through cultivating the habit of listen and appreciate music in addition to develop children`s creativity and music aptitude.
