ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study aimed to examine the current conditions of the after-school piano classes, run by the elementary schools in rural areas of Anseong City and to offer the measures for the betterment. The study reveals that the after-school piano classes are especially beneficial for the students who would not be able to receive the opportunity for learn piano, otherwise. However, on the other hand, the quality of those piano classes still remains poor, mainly due to lack of the decent learning environments and the expertise of instructors in schools. Based upon these findings, the study suggests the ways to improve the after-school piano classes of the elementary schools in rural areas.
