The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between music cognitive capacity and interest level in music classes applying Gordon`s audiation learning for 7th grade students. The control group was exposed to regular music lessons whereas the experimental group was given the lesson plan based on Gordon`s audiation for 3weeks. The results of this study are as follows. First, in comparing cognitive music capacity, the experimental group showed a significant change. Second, the music interest score for the experimental group increased from 3.14 to 3.92 point while the control group decreased from 3.00 to 2.98 point. Third, music cognitive capacity and music interest level has moderation relationship (r=.229) at 95% level of confidence. Thus, the present study shows that there is a statistically significant difference between students` music cognitive capacity and their interest level in music classes.
