The purpose of this study was to identify the perceived factors that influenced the career choice and the curriculum applicability toward real world after graduation as music majors in Korean universities (N=201). The participants indicated that they chose music as the college major because of their affection for music. On the other hand, income and job achievement were perceived as the least influential factors impacting the career choice of music majors in Korean universities. Regarding the curriculum applicability toward real world after graduation, participants pointed out that they have perceived the matters of job achievement, as they became college seniors. Moreover, music majors who pursue their career as professional performers rated curriculum applicability relatively low compared to other music majors. Recommendation and conclusion were provided for music majors in Korean universities.
