ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to suggest teaching and learning strategies of singing activities that improve the degree of satisfaction, participation and enjoyment for the students in music class. Also it includes instructional methods that can satisfy the content and musical elements which the national curriculum requires for the grades in music subject. For this, Music Learning Theory, especially R.S.T.P by Edwin Gordon and three stage approach to learning have been adopted and applied. In order to apply three songs from the 3rd grade music text book are selected and diverse instructional methods are suggested. For the remark the procedure and ways to model the song in class have been changed and replaced with R.S.T.P and body movements are put into class activities right after learning the songs that can motivate the students to participate the class in a positive way.
