The Development of Inclusive Music Program for the Students with Intellectual Disabilities

This study was designed to develop an inclusive music program for the students with intellectual disabilities based on the suggestions of Adamek and Darrow(2005) and Loong(2013). Before developing the program, this study examined the suggestions of Adamek and Darrow(2005) and Loong(2013) about the inclusive music education for the students with intellectual disabilities. This program was characterized by (a) its basis on the 2009 National Music Curriculum for the Elementary Students (b) the learning activities and the materials to promote the disabled student`s cognitive, communicative, social, emotional, and physical development, (c) the use of multicultural music, and (d) the adjustments of educational environments, learning objectives, learning materials, content presentations and students` responses.
