Analysis on the Traditional Children`s Songs and Activities Described in the Nuri Curriculum Teacher`s Guidebook

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to suggest how to plan and practice as well as to reconstruct the traditional children`s song and activities based on the National Kindergarten Curriculum for teachers. To achieve this purpose, the objective and the content of seventeen activities related to the traditional children`s songs from the Nuri curriculum teacher`s guidebook were analyzed. The results of this study show: Firstly, according to the statement methods of objectives in 28 activities included 6 lyrics-centered statements, 15 melody-centered statements, and 7 play-centered statements. Secondly, in thirty-one activities related to children`s traditional songs had mostly ‘singing songs in diverse ways’ and ‘making one`s own creative lyrics, melody, and length of beats’ activities in the Age 4 and 5 Nuri Curriculum Teacher`s Guidebook.
