ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to investigate the current condition of the graded piano exam operated by the national association of private music institutions in South Korea. In this research, two most representative music grading system operated by ABRSM and NYSSMA were compared. Through comparative analysis of the history and background literature review, structure, content and assessment methods operated by the three institutions, we expect that the result of this research would provide and academic foundation to settle the proper music assessment system.
