The effects of Nanta music activity on young children``s stress and self-efficacy

ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the effect of the Nanta music activity on young children``s stress and self-efficacy. This study targeted 50 young children in kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Gyeonggi-do where have similar social class and daily work management systems. Then, young children``s stress and self-efficacy were measured in the group to do the Nanta music activity and in the group not to do this activity. As a result, first, the Nanta music activity had a significant effect on an encounter with criticized.aggressive situations, an experience of anxiety and frustration and a loss of self-esteem which are subordinate variables of young children``s stress. Second, the Nanta music activity had a significant effect on the cognitive domain, physical domain and social.emotional domain that are subordinate variables of young children``s self-efficacy. In conclusion, the Nanta music activity was found to reduce young children``s stress and improve self-efficacy.
