The Effects of Orff Method-based Music Education Program on Young Children`s Musical Creativity

ABSTRACT

The purposes of study are to compose Orff Method-based Music Education Program overcoming limitations of existing the early childhood music education program and to investigate its effectiveness on young children``s musical creativity in the childhood education field. Research results are as follows: First, there were significant difference in musical creativity(sum of musical fluency and musical imagination), musical fluency, and musical imagination between experimental group and control group. And score of experimental group was higher than one of control group. This result means that Orff Instrumental Music Ensemble Program is effective for musical creativity. Second, there were significant difference in musical creativity and musical imagination between eighth time and sixteenth time. And score of sixteenth time was higher than one of eighth time. This result means that musical creativity and musical imagination were increasing as effective period passed. But there were no significant difference in musical fluency between eighth time and sixteenth time. Third, there were no significant difference in musical creativity(sum of musical fluency and musical imagination), musical fluency, and musical imagination between the age, and also the same between the sex.
