The purpose of this study is to investigate pre-service elementary teachers’s perceptions about learning contents(musical and multicultural elements) of multicultural music included in music textbooks. For the investigation, 95 pre-service teachers were surveyed. The paper surveys were conducted before and after 14 weeks multicultural music learning. The results of this study showed positive effects on the perceptions of participants about musical and multicultural elements. The result indicated that participants thought the pronunciations and meanings of texts were most difficult. The results of this study could be helpful to establish the curricula related to multicutlrual music education in pre-service and in-service teacher education institute.
