The purpose of this study is to develop the structure of the music subject competency that is suitable for the Korean school music education context according to competency-based curriculum tendency which is emerging as issues of recent curriculum revision. To this aim, this study has investigated the development cases of the structure of the music subject competency through the analysis of the foreign primary and secondary school music curriculum documents. Based on this, the structure of the music subject competency was derived through a Delphi survey targeting more than 30 of the domestic music education specialist. It was reconstructed through the expert council. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, The music subject competency consists of ‘Acceptance’, ‘Expression’, ‘Reflection’. Second, this study has developed the music subject competency in connection with the subject common key-competency at the national level.
