ABSTRACT

John Dewey`s `An Experience` is a core of concepts in his art philosophy. The levels of aesthetic experiences are summarized as are the experience of the unity for situation, is the experience of aesthetic quality, is the experience as consummation, and the experience as practice of the good. These concretely suggest the aesthetic experience and the activity program of singing as connected with the level of aesthetic experience in music. Of course, the aesthetic experience for singing should be explored with lyrics and music which have their aesthetic elements. The aesthetic elements of lyrics are rhythmical language, imaginable language, and image language. The aesthetic elements of music are found by musical color, melody, company. Therefore, in the level of John Dewey`s `An Experience`, the ways of aesthetic experience activities can be suggested as perceiving the state of lyrics and music, practicing of the aesthetic feeling, and reinforcing the practice of the good.
