ABSTRACT

This study aims to explore a teaching approach for a musical class using applications of a smart device, the class being targeted for middle school students. As the results of this study indicate, the class with musical activities using applications created various positive and cooperative learning effects, such as students` increased interests in music, easier acquisition of difficult techniques, students` self-directed learning, and communication, consideration and responsibility within a group. Based on these results, the teaching approach for the musical class using applications can be used as a teaching plan for actual music classes, and further, it is expected that music classes utilizing applications are expended.
