The purpose of this study is to present the direction of arts and cultural education in school from the viewpoint of music education in order to raise the core competence emphasized in 2015 revised music curriculum . In order toset the direction, FGI was performed to professors of music education department, music teachers, arts instructors - who are in charge of music education in school culture and arts education. The results of the study are as follows. First, from the viewpoint of music education, it is necessary to provide guidelines on the concrete operation and practice of school arts and cultural education. Second, it should be strengthen the capacity of music teachers who are in charge of school arts and cultural education. Third, school arts and cultural education should be balanced with regular subjects.
