This study is conducted to clarify the significance of body-movement education of Jaques-Dalcroze, Kodály and Orff in terms of their social and cultural background. They all worked in different countries and regions, thus their explanations are different. Jaques-Dalcroze took French Grand-Opéra tradition as his model. Orff s emphasis was on the balance between body and mind slanted by the idealism of absolute music. Kodály applied various educational methods to the Hungarian folksongs collected by himself. The result will helps us to improve our music educational situation.
