ABSTRACT

The Korean Music Education Society is the first association of music education and the best academic society of South Korea established in 1956. For more than half a century, this association have been developed with great influence on the development of music education in Korea. The history of the society is well organized in the series, but it is hard to find data that shed light on the period situation and the motives of the event. So, in this study, this study interviewed three senior scholars who contributed to the development of the society to follow its footsteps. Not only did this interview reveal the vivid footsteps hidden in the historical backtrack, but it also listened to the mission and role of the society, and their desire for tomorrow's music education. Thus, this research will not only serve as be a valuable source of The Korean Music Education Society, but also a great idea to open up future music education.
