A Study on the Trend of Music Classes using Mobile Apps

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of mobile apps used in music classes, and to provide suggestions that music instructors can effectively utilize mobile apps tailored to activities by music education area. For this purpose, the final 43 papers were selected to meet the conditions after searching. The final 43 selected papers consisted of seven academic journals and 36 dissertations, with 21 studying middle school students. Specifically, the use of mobile apps by music education area accounted, instrumental music, curriculum convergence, singing and listening. Among the effects of using mobile apps in music education were improving creativity, improving collaboration, providing abundant materials, increasing interest and self-directed learning.
