A Study on the Influence of the Grammy Music Educator Award on Music Education in the United States

ABSTRACT

This study explores the impact of the Grammy Music Educator Award on the development and the change in social perception of music education in the United States. To examine the characteristics of the American educational awards, the researcher invested the types, criteria, and methods of major American educational awards and investigated the establishment, method, and processes of selecting the Grammy Music Educators Award. This study shows that the Grammy Award for Music Educators played a significant role in promoting the importance of music education and the value of music teachers to American society based on the cultural and economic influence of the Grammy Awards, and contributing to the development of music education in schools with American music educators.
