ABSTRACT

This study aims to provide basic research data for planning measures and systems to improve the quality of school-based arts and culture education by analyzing domestic literature. For this purpose, the operation status, impact, and instructors of music education programs in school-based arts and culture education were examined, focusing on previous studies from 2010 to 2023. The results of the study are as follows. First, although music education programs in school-based arts and culture education were being operated to provide universal arts education according to the characteristics of schools and regions, it was needed to expand the support and scope of the projects as well to support custom programs that take into account the characteristics of each school. Second, it was revealed that the music education programs positively impacted students, schools, teachers, and the local community. In addition, it was identified that there was a need for measuring the continuity of education and strengthening the linkage between regions and institutions. Third, it was found that the following measures should be considered: the selection of instructors based on the characteristics of each program, efficient role distribution among instructors, and the establishment of an instructor education system on various useful subjects.
