The purpose of this study is to explore effective strategies for implementing the Korean Social and Emotional Learning (K-SEL) program in connection with elementary music education, in response to the initiation of K-SEL application starting in 2025. To achieve this goal, the concepts and characteristics of social and emotional learning were first analyzed, followed by an in-depth examination of social-emotional competency elements embedded within the 2022 revised elementary music curriculum, grounded on their potential connections with music education. Subsequently, implications were derived through the analysis of both domestic and international cases of integrated music and social-emotional learning programs. Based on these findings, a music-based K-SEL program suitable for elementary school settings was developed, along with specific instructional examples tailored to different grade groups. This study is significant in that it concretely presents an integrated approach aimed at simultaneously enhancing elementary students' musical abilities and social-emotional competencies.
